Community Guidelines
Last updated September 15, 2026
blkhive is a safe, welcoming home for the Black community. We are here to meet, help, hire, teach and buy from each other. Treat every member like family you respect.
Lift each other up
- Be kind, even when you disagree. Debate ideas, never attack people.
- Show up for each other: answer questions, offer help, share what you know.
- Give honest reviews. Criticize a product or service fairly; never harass an owner.
Never allowed
- Hate and harassment: slurs, threats, bullying, or attacks on anyone's race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or background, including anti-Black racism of any kind.
- Anything that sexualizes a minor. blkhive is for adults 18+. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as the law requires, and ban the account.
- Nudity and sexual content, violence or gore.
- Scams and fraud: fake businesses, fake reviews, pyramid schemes, "get rich quick" pitches, asking members for money under false pretenses.
- Pretending to be someone else, or listing a business you don't own.
- Sharing someone's private information (address, phone, photos) without their permission.
- Spam: repeated promotions, mass messages, or links posted over and over.
- Illegal goods or services, including weapons, drugs and stolen property.
Businesses
- A business in the directory must be at least 51% Black-owned, and the owner says so truthfully when applying.
- Every business is checked by our team before it appears, and can be re-checked at any time.
- Prices, deals and events you post must be real.
If you see something wrong
Use the report button on any post, comment, message, business or profile. A real person on our team reviews every report. Depending on what happened, we may remove content, limit an account, or ban it. Serious threats are reported to the authorities.
